ImaginationLancaster's research highlighted on AHRC's Cities and Urban Environments portfolio

Recognising the challenges of rapid urbanisation, the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) has launched its Cities and Urban Environments portfolio, showcasing some of its flagship projects.

Arts and humanities researchers are contributing research on how we can live in close community with one another. Its interdisciplinary work embeds a human-focused approach to issues such as health, sustainability, development, economic growth, services, and infrastructure. Design research is spearheading several of these projects.

These cover different areas such as:

Imagination Lancaster‘s AHRC-funded Dust Bunny project is being featured as an exemplar of research on community health and wellbeing in cities.

As a research centre our research spans most of the cities research areas identified above and working with communities forms a key practice in our research work.
