ImaginationLancaster seeks to appoint a Senior Research Associate to work on an EPSRC funded Liveable Cities project. The project is an ambitious programme of research to develop a method of designing and engineering UK cities that take cognisance of one planet living, one world resources and individual and societal wellbeing (Liveable Cities: Transforming the Engineering of Cities for Global and Societal Wellbeing http://liveablecities.org.uk/).
With expertise in design research, you will possess at least a postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in a field relevant to design, urban design, architecture or design management and be comfortable developing and co-authoring scholarly papers and book chapters. Led by the University of Birmingham, you will work with colleagues in Lancaster University, University College London and the University of Southampton. We are looking for an energetic, dynamic, self-directed and committed individual with a genuine interest in the role in the urban context
ImaginationLancaster is an internationally recognised design and innovation research centre in Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts. It conducts applied and theoretical research into people, products, places and their interactions. It works across traditional boundaries, linking disciplines and collaborating with organisations and universities nationally and internationally. It is involved in high-impact experimental and applied research that creates pathways from the laboratory to the marketplace.
This is a fixed term contract until 30 April 2017 in line with external funding.
