Design for Europe - Development of the European Design Innovation Platform

Following the announcement of €3.8m EU funding to build the European Design Innovation Platform, the consortium starts work and plans its launch event in Brussels

The European Design Innovation Platform (EDIP) is a digital platform that will bring together knowledge and exemplars of design’s role in innovation and growth from across Europe. The platform will act as a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in finding the latest tools and techniques for applying design, making connections with peers, and finding the latest research.

The platform, alongside a programme of related events, seeks to increase awareness of design innovation amongst European business people, public service managers, and policymakers – and as such is the European Commission’s main vehicle for turning its Action Plan for Design-Driven Innovation into reality.

The consortium, comprising 14 organisations from 10 EU member states, will meet together for the first time in Brussels on 25 March 2014 at EDIP’s official launch event. For more information about EDIP, visit the Design Council updated website.
