Making in the City (3D Printing) Design Jam

Bringing London-based digital and creative small and medium businesses together to create innovate concepts for cities

ImaginationLancaster is organising three ‘Cities Design Jams’ in central London that will focus on diverse themes within cities. The first design jam will take place on the 6th of December and it examines digital making using 3D printing technologies. The event brings together London-based businesses from across the digital and creative industries to co-create commercially viable ideas that will shape cites and enhance the lives of their residents.

Businesses will learn more about 3D printing and will have the opportunity to access a 3D printer during the event. The event will include talks from inspiring business and academic speakers and a friendly competition. Mentors will be there to help the teams shape their ideas. At the end of the day, the teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of industry experts. The winning team will receive special access to experts to fast track them to London Fusion Collaborative Awards (up to the value of £10,000).

During this 12 hour interactive event, businesses will gain insight into:

  • Making the most of co-creating innovative products and services
  • Getting new perspectives through working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Enhancing residents’ lives using people centred design
  • Being immersed in this exciting new sector of the creative industries

Previous experience of design is not a requirement to participate in this exciting event. All aspects of the intellectual property of the work produced during the Cities Design Jam are owned by the team members that developed them.
